Terms of Service
The short version: play fair, and enjoy the game for your own personal fun. Gold, gems, skins and other in-game items have no real-world value and can't be cashed out. Apple and Google handle payments and refunds. Your progress lives on your device. Nothing here takes away rights that the law in your country gives you.
1. Agreement
These Terms are an agreement between you and Ctrl Alt Defeat Studio LLC ("we", "us") for the game Iron Mantle and its updates (the "Game"). By downloading or playing the Game you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't play.
The Game is designed for players aged 13 and up. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms for you and is responsible for any purchases.
2. Your license to play
We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to install and play the Game on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial entertainment, in line with the rules of the store you got it from. We, or our licensors, own the Game and everything in it, including its code, art, music, characters (Rusty included) and trademarks. Everything not expressly licensed to you is reserved.
3. Virtual items and purchases
- What you get. Gold, gems, drills, skins, upgrades, the Core Pass and other in-game items ("Virtual Items") are a license to use that content in the Game. They aren't property, have no monetary value, and can't be sold, traded, transferred or exchanged for money or anything outside the Game.
- Payments. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google under their terms. Prices are shown in the store before you buy and may include taxes.
- Immediate delivery. Virtual Items are delivered as soon as you buy them. Where the law gives you a right to withdraw from a purchase, such as the 14-day right in the EU and UK, you agree to immediate delivery and acknowledge that you lose that right once delivery starts.
- Refunds. Purchases are final except where the law or the store's policy says otherwise. Request refunds from Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google (Google Play refunds). We can't issue refunds ourselves because we don't process payments.
- Core Pass. A Core Pass purchase unlocks the premium reward track for the current 28-day season only. Rewards you don't claim before the season ends may expire.
- Restoring purchases. One-time purchases (No Ads, Starter Pack, Midas Bundle) can be restored on a new device or after reinstalling with Settings → Restore Purchases. Gems and other consumable items are part of your saved progress: they come back when your progress is restored from its backup, but not otherwise.
- Random rewards. Where the Game gives random rewards, such as supply crates, the odds are shown in the Game before you open them.
- Promo codes and gifts. Promotional codes and gift events have no cash value, may expire, may be limited to one per player and may be available only on some platforms.
- Changes to the Game. We may rebalance prices, rewards and Virtual Items, or retire features, to keep the Game fun and fair. If we stop offering the Game, Virtual Items will stop working, and we will give reasonable notice in the Game where we can.
4. Your saved progress
The Game has no accounts. Your progress is saved on your device and, when available, backed up to your own iCloud or Google account, which restores it after a reinstall or on a new device with the same account. We can't access these backups or recover progress for you, and progress can't be moved between iOS and Android.
5. Ads
The Game is free because it shows ads. Rewarded ads are always optional. The No Ads purchase removes the ads shown between runs; rewarded ads you choose to watch stay available. How ads use data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
6. Fair play
You agree not to:
- cheat, hack, modify the Game, or use bots, emulators for cheating, or any software that changes how the Game works;
- exploit bugs to gain an advantage (please report them to us instead);
- copy, decompile, reverse engineer or redistribute the Game, except where the law expressly allows it;
- use the Game for commercial purposes or sell Virtual Items or saved games;
- interfere with the Game, our partners' services or other players' enjoyment;
- use the Game in a way that breaks the law.
If you break these rules, we may remove Virtual Items obtained unfairly or end your license to play.
7. Health
Some people experience seizures or discomfort from flashing lights or patterns. The Game has Flash Effects and Screen Shake settings you can turn down. Stop playing and consult a doctor if you feel unwell, and take regular breaks.
8. Third-party services
The Game uses third-party services, such as the app stores, ad networks and Unity. Links or ads may take you to third-party sites or apps. We aren't responsible for their content or practices, and their own terms apply.
9. Updates and availability
We may update the Game to add content, fix bugs or meet legal and store requirements, and some updates may be required to keep playing. We don't promise the Game will always be available, error-free or compatible with every device.
10. Disclaimer
To the fullest extent the law allows, the Game is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits or lost Virtual Items. Our total liability for any claim about the Game is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Game in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer in the EU, UK or another country with mandatory consumer protections, you keep those rights.
12. Ending this agreement
You can stop playing and uninstall the Game at any time. We may end or suspend your license if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, or if we stop offering the Game. Sections 3 (on the nature of Virtual Items), 10, 11, 13 and 14 continue to apply after the agreement ends.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before bringing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally. Disputes that can't be resolved informally will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Washington. If you are a consumer outside the United States, you may also bring a claim in the courts where you live, and the mandatory laws of your country still apply.
14. Additional terms for the Apple App Store
If you downloaded the Game from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and so do the following terms:
- These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the Game and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the Game.
- If the Game fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund any purchase price you paid for the Game. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the Game.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claims about the Game, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection claims.
- If a third party claims that the Game infringes its intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending and settling that claim.
- You confirm that you aren't located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you aren't on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
15. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms. We'll post the new version here, update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the Game. If you keep playing after a change, the new Terms apply.
